In 2012, Odopod won the largest project in the company’s history. The brief was simple, if rather daunting: reinvent Sony’s digital ecosystem, creating a seamless, unified experience for people worldwide to discover, evaluate, buy and get more out of their Sony products.

I led the Interaction Design effort on this project, defining the broad strokes of the project and directing a team of 8 interaction designers in executing the project. I helped see the project through from start to end over the course of 1 1/2 years. On top of directing the day-to-day work of the Interaction Design team, my contribution included ~20 client presentations, collaboration with a design team of ~10 designers, and daily consultation with the front end developers to ensure the integrity of the design.

The end result is a unified, global platform that can accommodate a catalog of thousands of products and services in an elegant and deceptively simple way. The site is the largest responsive site built today, scaling across all Sony devices including TVs, consoles, and all manner of handhelds, and stands as a tentpole in Sony’s reemergence as a leader in thought and design.
